VERSA 18 SKIFF

What is the Versa 18?

The Versa 18 was our answer to a gap in the skiff world. What is it exactly ? The Versa 18 is a simple utility fishing skiff designed and built as a lightweight option to the sea of boats available but with some very serious goals. Yes, the Versa is based on the very successful panga style design made so ever popular in the waters of South America (and elsewhere) but with a twist. We wanted to make a boat anyone could afford. The boat had to be powered with small outboards. The boat had to be seaworthy and able to safely carry 2 people without constant worry of stuffing the bow in a boat wake or chop. The boat had to be simple in design. So what did we do?

All of the above

Micro Skiffs' has become a common tag and what a micro skiff is has become a little clouded. The Versa 18 is somewhat a micro in that it is low displacement (320 lbs), low freeboard, and runs well with a small outboard (15-20 hp) The skiff had to be light / rugged and safer than many options in the skiff marketplace. Too many small boats out there with canoe like profiles / low freeboard / bows, get unsuspecting people in trouble quickly when they hit a boat wake / wave and take water over the bow or sides easily leading to bad situations. The Versa 18 is designed as to help alleviate these issues as best as possible and still be a 'small' skiff. We tow tested a weighted model and learned a lot as we developed the boat and what we ended up with we hope many will agree is a great little utility skiff. The bow of the Versa is what first grabs most peoples attention. We made her panga style and with huge spray chines and volume in the bow. This keeps you dry and helps to minimize the chance of stuffing the bow taking on large amounts of water. In the event you end up plowing into a wave/ wake Versa's bow design adds a lot of reserve buoyancy in the front to add resistance to her stuffing a wave, and allows it to pop-up fast with the added reserve bouancy and resistance. We think the results will speak for themselves and think you will as well.

The Versa 18 has 2 bnch seats- both with storage hatches molded in, and the center hatch can be used as storage or a livewell. For the fly fisherman each hull has a pvc rod tube laminated to the hull sides (above seats) to allow a place for fly rod storage. The front has a 4 foot bow deck with room for storage underneath as well

Versa can be powered with a 9.9 or up to 30 Hp max. Carry 3 persons or 355 Lbs, and a total load of 560lbs in a design that will run a chop...float skinny, and pole quite well given the waterline shape- all in a design that wont need a second mortgage to buy !

Versa can be outfitted with a short shatf motor, using a tiller. We will eventually offer a side console steering option as well at our dealers.

We will soon be adding real pictures and videos !
